Staves for Prot Monks
Hey guys, I'm having trouble picking out a staff for my prot set, it seems that most of the cooler skins dont come in prot so I figured this is easier.
Which staves come in prot and which ones would you guys recommend?

There are several that come in Prot...
Bone Dragon Staff
Tormented Staff
Destroyer Staff
Asuran Staff
Charrslayer Staff
Norn Staff
Raven Staff
Protective Staff
Deldrimor Staff
Dead Staff
Amber Staff
Bo Staff
Celestial Staff
Cockatrice Staff
Dragon Staff
Forbidden Staff
Jade Staff
Lotus Staff2
Outcast Staff
Plagueborn Staff
Platinum Staff
Zodiac Staff
Not positive about these
Ghostly Staff
Shadow Staff
Requires Bonus Mission
Charr Staff
Mursaat Staff
Tengu Staff
Unded Staff
It all boils down to your personal preference. On my monk I prefer to use a divine favor staff but that is me. The Bone Dragon Staff is probably the most expensive (and ugliest IMO) of all the staffs. The only thing I would recommend is that you get one that is has max stats and is inscribable.

I recommend not worrying about "cooler skins". Find a staff you like and you consider suitable for your overall looks. IMO, BDS has to be one of the ugliest staves a monk can have.

Tormented staffs are nice imo. Agree that BDS are seriously ugly, only good thing is they dye quite well.

Personally i do not use staves. I use a Tormented Spear and a Tormented Shield on my monk. But i do like the Tormented staves. I agree also that the BDS are ugly but when farmed they bring in a nice chunk of change.

Tormented or Bone Dragon.
Without either you won't have a big enough dong to lay down the RoFs in time.

I kind of like the Deldrimor one, actually. Celestial and Zodiac are pretty too. I think BDS is overpriced and doesn't really go with most monk looks... it'd look much better with a necro.

20/20 Prot Outcast Staff is worth more than BDS hands down.

So do Bo Staves imo. They both are among the coolest looking and rarest in perfect condition.

Any of the Canthan or Tyrian staves with appropriate stats would be insanely expensive, and extremely rare. Unfortunately, if you want to use inscriptions etc, you will need to stick with limited few from Nightfall or Eotn. Even more unfortunately, Anet decided to make most of the nice staves from EoTN req Divine Favour, so in general we are very limited in prot staff choice.
A protection Astral Staff would make me a very happy monkey...

TBH, I wasn't a fan of Torm Staff until I dyed my farming armor purple.

Not many possible choices here - almost all of the cool staffs come with req. Divine instread of Prot. Tyrian/Canthan ones may at least have 20% HCT Prot if you're lucky, but you can't make them 40/20/20 as Adept head will give HCT Divine on them (and they deal Fire dmg which is almost strictly worse than holy).
There's only 1 (one) droppable staff with req. Prot and skin other than basic pvp - it's the fugly BDS. The remaining few options are just some crafter/collector ones, including Tormented and BMP staffs.

If you want one that dyes White decently, check out the Mursaat Staff from the BMP. You can pick up a Prot one. And it would go decently with just about any armor you chose to get for your Monk.
Just my $.02...

The Tengu BMP Staves are just a bit too much, imho. They look nice, but they look top-heavy as all hell. Not to mention, most of the Tengu Staff doesn't dye, whereas the full Mursaat Staff does.
